What is the best kind of bait to catch bass?


The water is very dark so lures dont work well so I need a good bait to use.

You honestly never can go wrong with real live bait, night crawlers. If they aren’t hitting those then more than likely they aren’t hitting. Fact of the matter is though that sometimes you gotta test their senses. Sight not working (because of color of water?) try top water lures (rapalas, poppers and such). The slight twirk will simulate a dying fish and can be felt and heard which might work better.
