A good line for Pike would be 50lb or 65lb braid, low-vis green. Make sure to have a wire leader, as Pike will slash most lines easily.

Some may prefer a Baitcaster over a Spinning reel, but myself I like the simplicity of an open-faced Spinning reel. Something that holds 160-to-240 yards of 12lb line would be sufficient for the species you listed. Pair it up with a 7′ MH fast-action spinning rod.

I’d prefer a good Saltwater Spinning reel for tough fish like Carp, Pike, and Salmon. A 360-size Penn Slammer with a 7′ MH Shakespeare Ugly Stik and 50lb braid, with a light fluorocarbon leader when chasing Carp or Salmon and a steel leader for chasing Pike.
