My friend and I bought some relatively cheap waders for fly-fishing.?
They were 70$ I think. My friend took his out a second time and they started cracking and leaking where the rubber boot meets the polyester pants. They are Frogg Toggs from Sportsmans Warehouse. Does anybody have any input on this? He spent a lot of time in the water at 42 degrees F. Should I be careful about letting the cheap rubber get too cold? Is this a common problem? thanks for your answers.
Those Frogg Toggs you purchased should have a warranty which should replace the waders, this may require a small fee from the company. You may want to find a way to contact the company and ask them if these specific waders have a warranty and what to do if they do have a warranty.
I bought a different brand from this store you mentioned and the chest waders I purchased the rubber cracked in the feet area, so I think it may just be the way they store their products in a warehouse before they are sent to different stores across the country. Their storage places may be in a place that is hot and the heat dries out things like the rubber in products like these.
