What is the best all around action for bass?

I have been getting mixed information in other questions regarding rod action. I am looking for an all purpose bass fishing rod, as I can only afford 1 currently. I know I am getting a 7 footer, but what is the best all around action for someone that can only get 1 rod. I want to be able to do anything, for the most part. This is going to be a baitcasting outfit if that matters.

Ask yourself these Q’s:

WHERE are you fishing?

Are you in the West? Are you in the Mid-west? Are you in the South?

If you will mainly be fishing deep reservoirs in the West, go with M action. If your in the Mid-west/South or North you should think about getting a MH.

How high is the gunwales of your boat?

Do you want to be able to “flip” the Bass over the side of your boat or do you want to have to “lip” any catch over 3Lb’s?? A MH rod can easily “flip” a fish into a boat- M action rods cannot do this with fish over 2-3Lb’s. 80% of fish are lost at boat-side………

What is the AVERAGE size Bass in your area?

If 5-6LB (PLUS) Bass are common in your area get a MH. If your mainly fishing small “Farm Ponds” with a smaller than 5Lb average think about getting a M. You will have more fun hauling in Farm Pond fish with a M action…..

What style of Bass fishing will you MAINLY be doing?

Your fav technique designates the action, (period).

Your “best bet”????? Go to Bass Resource and read everything you can in the beginner’s section.

Here is the link- http://www.bassresource.com/beginner/beginner.html

Personally, I think you should save your money and purchase 2 outfit’s like I stated in one of your other Q’s……

Hope this helps ya?
