The four boats were greeted with an unexpected, and welcome, cool breeze for the just after five start. We were glad to see Ron show up to round out the field of four.
Most of the guys stayed fairly close to Echo and seemed to be able to get tired catching and releasing many eight to twelve inch smallmouths.
The Big Fish of the tournament, slightly over two pounds, was landed by Lauren Storia. This fish anchored the winning limit of just over eight pounds weighed in by he and Sam. This edged out Randy and his son's limit of just under eight pounds. Paul and Ron finished out the field.
The temperature held pretty good until a little before noon when it rocketed to over a hundred. It is a good bet that won't happen next month at Cottonwood. Hopefully we'll see all of this month's participants and more.
Reminder - Club meetings are held the last tuesdays of the month. Next meeting JUNE 24, 2008 at the Blue Ox Tavern (located in the Burlington Coat Factory parking lot) W. Sahara & Jones @ 7 pm. - Hope to see you there.
